Established in May of 2000, North Arrow Technologies is the product of assembling a core group of innovative and dedicated individuals with geographic information systems (GIS) experience.  Located in Southeastern Michigan, we provide GIS-based solutions to clients throughout the state of Michigan and beyond.

Jeff’s interests in systems technologies were fostered by his education in Engineering Graphics and Design Technology.  Jeff came to North Arrow in 2002 as a Senior Associate. During the years since his transition from engineering to GIS Jeff familiarized himself with the field of GIS, particularly as it relates to infrastructure and asset management.

JAMES RUTHERFORD, GISP
Vice President & GIS Director

James has worked with geospatial technologies since 2000 in both the public and private sectors. James joined North Arrow in 2003 first as a GIS technician and currently is the GIS Director where he is responsible for managing and executing GIS-based projects. He also serves as a primary technical consultant for local government clients by providing on-site GIS support and training. He has been a certified GIS Professional (GISP) since 2008.
